Craig David plays Born To Do It in full at the Brighton Centre on Sunday 9 May 2027. Tickets go on sale at 9am on Friday 2 October through MyTicket.

Craig David will play his debut album Born To Do It from start to finish at the Brighton Centre on Sunday 9 May 2027. Tickets go on sale at 9am on Friday 2 October.

Brighton is one of two extra UK dates, announced this morning by the promoter Kilimanjaro Live. The other is Birmingham’s Utilita Arena the following night, Monday 10 May. The promoter says the pair follow two sold-out London shows earlier this year for the album’s 25th anniversary, and that they are part of his European tour.

Why Brighton is getting the show

Born To Do It came out in 2000. According to the promoter, it stayed in the charts for more than 70 weeks. At the two London shows, both at the Hammersmith Apollo, Craig David played the whole album with his band for the first time, and he says that is why he is now taking the show on the road.

In a statement released with the announcement, he said:

“26 years ago ‘Born to Do It’ changed my life! My 2 shows at London’s Hammersmith Apollo earlier this year were such an incredible vibe and they meant so much to me. To play the album front to back with my band for the first time, brought back so many amazing memories and because of that I’ve decided to take this show around the world to my wonderful fans and am excited to announce 2 UK shows in Brighton and Birmingham. I can’t wait to see you there!”

The promoter says the set will be the full Born To Do It song list “and more”. The tour poster puts it as the album in its entirety plus all the hits, and bills Brighton and Birmingham as the only UK shows.

The promoter’s release also says he has sold more than 15 million records worldwide as a solo artist, with fourteen Brit Award nominations, five of them for Best British Male, and two Grammy nominations for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance.

What it means for you

If you want to go, set a reminder for 9am on Friday 2 October. The two London shows sold out, and Brighton is one of only two UK dates. Buy from the official MyTicket listing rather than a resale site, and check the price and any fees there when sales open.

The show is on a Sunday night, so plan the journey home before you book: our trains and travel page covers services in and out of the city, and parking in Brighton lists the car parks near the seafront. For what else is on in the city, see things to do in Brighton.
