The Brighton 10K is on Sunday 15 November 2026. The Junior Mile starts at 8.45am and the 10K at 9.30am, both from Hove Promenade, about 500m west of the i360. Entries are open, and the price goes up on 2 November. If you are not running, it is the morning the seafront road is closed between Hove and Madeira Drive.

Prices are the organiser’s own, from its entry page. Third-party listing sites show slightly higher figures because they add a booking fee. There are no entries on the day, and the organiser says entries are likely to close a week before the race, or sooner if it fills.

One date to watch for. The council’s outdoor events page lists the race as “Sunday 9 November or 16 November”. Neither of those is a Sunday in 2026; they are last year’s Sundays. The organiser’s date, Sunday 15 November, is the one to plan around.

The route

The race started in 1984, set up by Brighton & Hove AC, and the organiser bills the course as fast and flat on wide, smooth carriageway. From its route page:

  • The start heads west along the promenade the length of Hove Lawns.
  • Runners turn onto the coast road at Fourth Avenue and head east towards Brighton.
  • Past the Palace Pier they go onto Madeira Drive for a 3km out-and-back, past the Sea Life Centre and the Victorian arches.
  • Back west, runners pass the i360 at about 8km, turn at Fourth Avenue again and finish on Hove Promenade.

The organiser’s FAQ says there are pacers at 40, 45, 50, 55 and 60 minutes, a sign at every kilometre, and public toilets on the course at 4.5km and 6.5km. Traffic management plans to reopen the roads on a 90-minute running time. Anyone slower can still finish, but on the pavement. Headphones are not allowed, except bone-conduction ones. Racing wheelchairs, pushchairs and buggies are not permitted under the race licence.

Road closures

The organiser advertises the race as run on closed roads, and the route means the seafront road from Fourth Avenue to Madeira Drive is shut on Sunday morning. The exact closure times have not been published. Nothing for 15 November was on the council’s register of traffic orders on 29 September, and orders only appear there once sealed. If you live on the seafront or are crossing the city that morning, plan around the coast road the route follows, Kingsway and King’s Road, being shut for the race. With a 9.30am start and a 90-minute window, the organiser’s own figures put the last runners past 11am; the reopening times will be in the sealed order.

Parking and getting there

The organiser’s FAQ names three car parks. Regency Square, BN1 2FG, is nearest and the most expensive. Norton Road (BN3 3BE) and King Alfred (BN3 2WW) in Hove are about a mile from the start. The hourly prices on the FAQ look out of date, so check current tariffs on our Brighton parking guide.

Brighton and Hove stations are both about 1.3 miles from the start. There is bike parking by the baggage marquee; bring your own lock. The baggage marquee and toilets are next to the start and finish.

A warning about the FAQ. Some of its deadlines are from an earlier year: it gives “Monday 14th October” for names on bibs and “Sunday 13th Oct” for transfers, and neither date is a Monday or a Sunday in 2026. It also says bibs are posted in the week of “Monday 21st October”. If a deadline matters to you, email the organiser through its contact page rather than relying on those dates.
